The Association was founded in 1878 by 17 traders and manufacturers, who perceived the need of an organization “to protect and promote trademark owner’s rights, to guarantee useful laws and help and encourage all efforts to promote and observe trademark rights.”
With headquarters in New York City, INTA also has offices in Shanghai, Brussels and in Washington DC, as well as representatives in Geneva and Mumbai.
